Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular wildlife destination, covering an expansive 794 square miles. Renowned for its diverse ecosystems, the park features sprawling savanna, lush humid forests, sparkling lakes, and pristine wetlands. It’s home to an incredible range of wildlife, including the famous tree-climbing lions, hippos, warthogs, Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, Uganda kob, and elephants. Bird lovers will be thrilled to discover the park is home to over 500 species of birds. In addition to its rich wildlife, the park also boasts striking volcanic features, including volcanic cones and crater lakes, making it a truly unique destination for nature enthusiasts.

Day 1: Arrival & Game Drive

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel and begin your journey to southwestern Uganda. En route, you'll stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for a memorable photo opportunity. Continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a lunch stop in Mbarara Town.
The park, named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Uganda in 1954, is home to diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, and over 500 species of birds. After lunch, embark on an exciting game drive, where you'll have the chance to spot over 95 mammal species that call this park home.
End your day with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge, set amidst the stunning landscapes of the park.

 

Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Wake up early for another thrilling morning game drive, where you can continue spotting a variety of wildlife across the park’s savanna and forests.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, winding through beautiful papyrus swamps. This scenic cruise offers a unique perspective on wildlife, including crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and a wealth of bird species that inhabit the channel.
After your cruise, return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

 

Day 3: Return to Kampala

After breakfast, you'll begin your journey back to Kampala, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, your driver will drop you off at your hotel or Entebbe Airport for your onward flight.
