Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest national park, covering approximately 3,480 square kilometers of stunning wilderness. Located 300 km from Kampala, it’s divided by the Victoria Nile, offering breathtaking views and diverse landscapes, from savanna to lush riverbanks. The park is home to over 76 mammal species and 451 bird species, making it a paradise for wildlife lovers and birdwatchers. Along the banks of the Nile River, you'll find Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, giraffes, and hippos, all thriving in their natural habitat.

 

Day 1: Rhino Trekking & Murchison Falls Exploration

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel for your journey to the northwest region. Your first stop is the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a rehabilitation center for the black and white rhinos. Explore the sanctuary through a guided rhino trek, nature walks, and birdwatching. The sanctuary is currently home to 15 white rhinos.
Continue to Masindi town for lunch before heading to Murchison Falls National Park, where you’ll be welcomed by wildlife like baboons and warthogs. Visit the Top of Murchison Falls for a spectacular view of the Nile River. For those seeking an adventure, there’s an option to hike to the top for an up-close view of the waterfalls.

 

Day 2: Game Drive & Launch Cruise

Wake up early for an exciting morning game drive through the savannah to spot wildlife such as buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, lions, hyenas, and more. The park is also home to a variety of bird species.
After lunch, embark on a launch cruise on the Nile River to the base of the falls. Here, you’ll encounter hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of birds like the African Fish Eagle, yellow-billed stork, and Malachite kingfisher. After the boat cruise, return to Chilli Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Return to Kampala

 

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch in Masindi. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel or Entebbe Airport for your departure.
